Mazda Boasts Highest Safety Ratings
IIHS Safety Ratings for 2021 Mazda Models
If you’re new to the auto industry, the acronym IIHS may be foreign to you. But, those who’ve been in the industry for a while definitely will know what IIHS stands for. For those who don’t, it stands for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it’s the source for one of the most respected (if not THE most respected) safety ratings in the entire industry.
Each year, the IIHS dishes out ratings for vehicles, judging their safety based on a number of factors. This is done through performing key tests that include numerous areas of the vehicle, such as moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof and head restraints. The IIHS also examines advanced safety tech. An individual rating is given for each test and those who pass with flying colors may be awarded top recognition by the IIHS, being named either TOP SAFETY PICK, or one better… TOP SAFETY PICK+.
2021 Mazda Models Named TOP SAFETY PICK+ Models
As you might have guessed considering Mazda’s track record in this department, Mazda did exceedingly well in the IIHS’ tests. In fact, every single vehicle that was tested earned the title of TOP SAFETY PICK+.
The models that the IIHS tested this year included the Mazda3 Sedan, Mazda3 Hatchback, Mazda6, Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-30, Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-9. These tests were performed on the newest model year vehicles, 2021.
